For this project, I did my story on how I broke my wrist flying off the monkey bars when I was in second grade. I wanted to play on the playground so I did and I thought I was a pro so I hopped on the bars and then I started to swing, when I started picking up the pace I fell and landed right on my wrist to try and catch myself. How I did this project was I went on AI and got a playground picture and a somewhat look of bark, then I hot glued 3 sticks together to look like a bar you swing on, and then I made a base for it, so it would have support. I then made what is supposed to be called a person it's supposed to be me, then I hot glued rubber bands to the figure and to the bar to show what really happened. And the figure does actually move to show how I was swinging. Lastly, I put a cast to resemble how I broke my wrist.
In this project, you had to take a picture of your hand holding a tool and draw it. So what I did was I found a tool, I chose to do the paintbrush. After I took the picture I got it printed out and started looking it over. So first you have to do the double it method, where you plot dots on the edges and you dot it on the paper, and then double it for it will come out bigger, so it will match the paper size. after each dot you make you will make a line to another dot. So after you do all lines and dots you will have your drawing. To make your hand look more real, you will have too shade it and follow all the shadows in your picture. This project made me want to leave art and go to choir. But I'm still here. And my project did turn out better than I thought.
For this project we had to pick a photo of nature and then had to draw it. first we traced it on the canvas and then would paint. This project we hard for me at the start, painting hte sky was the hardest part. And trying to make my ocean look like it was a ocean. But I finally got it and was able to come out with a better picture then what I thought it would. I loved painting and would do this again now that I have more experience on how to paint.
This is the first clay project we did this year. First I was given a block of clay and I had to turn it into a jar. I then glazed it with colors but I then thought that It was not cool enough so I put black dots all over which I now would say should not have done.
For this project I had to make a whistle, I was taught how to make the actual whistle and then I fixed it to where it can blow. Sometimes It would not blow and then blow but after a while I got it to work. I then had to think of a theme to make my whistle. I then made at cat and then I glazed it and named it kisses.
In this project we were expected to make a clay bowl, I made this bowl out of clay coils which are just long strips of thick clay. First, we got a plastic bowl and taped paper towels around to where you could see no more of the plastic. A while back we made 3 example designs of what we would put on our bowl I then picked my design out of my three and then traced it on the paper towel with Sharpie. Once I got my design on my bowl I then started to take my clay coils and shaped them into the designs I wanted on my bowl. So actually, my first bowl that I made sadly did not come out well after blow drying it so I did have to restart. I restarted and finished my bowl in 2 days. And as you can see the picture to the side is my bowl. I glazed it white and now it is ready to be taken home.
If I'm being completely honest, I don't think this project was my best work, but I also still fell in love with it and loved how it's just a shark swimming underwater and not something that was too crazy. I first found my photo and then started going with the monochromatic color scheme. I then started painting and went on to put all the blues on. After a week of painting, I concluded that there was no more to be done and that it was time to put it up even though I knew it was not my best. I will say though, I have learned a lot from watercolor and hope to use it in the future.
For this project we were asked to pick an insect, so I picked a butterfly. First, I traced it out on the paper, then I continued on with the background. I made my background blurry and the butterfly clear. I added the shaded parts to make it look like it pops out more. I then added some finishing touches and called it good. I loved this project and I found it way easier then both the watercolor and landscape painting. Overall I am happy with how my painting came out.
For this Print, I took my watercolor skills and watercolored a white paper. Once the watercolor dried I then took the black inc and printed it on to the paper.
For this print, I called it the 2 layer print because what I did was I got white and printed it first on the paper and then after i waited for it to dry I then printed pink on top of it.
This print is called a banana Print because the paper used to print on is made from bananas. You do treat this like any other paper, so I picked out the paper and then printed pink on it like any regular print.
