Creative Lines

This art project really challenged me creatively. I had to come up with creative ideas to pursue in this drawing. The reason I chose to go with an under the sea theme, is because of the curvy lines. The variety of lines made me think of the ocean, and all the different types of creatures in it.

Hand Holding a Tool Drawing

When I first heard about this project, I was very worried. I was worried about not knowing how to do it, and getting a bad grade. Once I started the project, I realized I wasn't as bad as I thought I was going to be, and I actually was successfully drawing it. I realized that shading is something that I am not too bad at, and I actually thought this assignment was fun, and I could see myself trying it again.

Landscape Painting

Before doing this assignment, I had never really painted, and wasn't sure on how i was going to do all the different painting techniques, or what brush to use. When I started this painting, I immediately was discouraged because I thought I would have no clue what I was doing, but as I got going I got the hang of it, and with Mr. Langmaacks help., I was able to complete the project, and I am pretty proud of how it turned out.

Clay Jar

This assignment was one of my favorites to do. Playing with the clay was very fun, but when I knew we had to make a jar out of it, I wasn't so sure about how that was going to go, but as I started the assignment I realized it is much easier than I thought. Glazing the jar was my favorite part, even though I did not do that good at it. This assignment taught me a lot of patience, and was a very fun one to complete.

Clay Bowl

This project was one of my favorite clay projects. Making the bowl took a very long time, but it was worth it because it was very fun to do.  Halfway through making my bowl, I accidentally dropped it and it came off the plastic bowl and broke, so I had to restart the whole thing.  I am glad this happened though, because I wasn't blending well enough so further down the line my bowl wouldve broke. I ended up giving this bowl to my mom and she loved it. This project taught me many things, like how important blending is, and whenever it gets ruined, to go back and try again.

Clay Whistle

This project was very fun to do, but coming up with an idea was the hardest part. I had somany options that i was deciding from, but because Valentine's Day is coming up, I decided on a teddy bear. This project was super fun to make and do, but making it whistle was pretty difficult. The only thing that I didn't like was that the glaze on the outside looks splotchy because I probably didn't paint it even enough all over. I loved this project a lot, and I am happy with how my whistle came out.

Oil Pastel Insect

This project was a very fun project to do, and really taught me about layering, and blending. I learned that with an oil pastel painting, you need to do the lighter colors first. I learned this because when I first started on my butterfly, I did the black first. Then, when I started adding yellow it mixed together and did not look good, so because of that I had to restart. The only thing I am not proud of with this project is the background, because I was rushing through it to get the project done, so it did not turn out like I'd hoped.

Underwater Watercolor

This project was very fun. One of the parts that I struggled with was what color scheme to choose.  I ended  up choosing a triad of red, blue, and yellow which made the painting very bright. At first I struggled with this assignment because I wasn't sure how to layer watercolor properly, but then as I painted I got better and learned how to do watercolor correctly.

Bird Printmaking

This project was a very fun project to do, and it was very relaxing as well. Carving out the bird was fun, but after a while it got difficult making the lines straight. Stamping it was fun, along with choosing the colors for the stamp, but when the ink would get smeared it was stressful. Overall, this project was fun and turned out pretty good.

Custom Copper Box

This project was a quick and easy one that I definitely recommend. Picking out a pattern and metal was very fun, because there was so many options. I also like this project because you can customize it however you want and for whoever you want. This was a project I really enjoyed and liked doing.
