Textured Bowl

This textured bowl was a challenge to make but I had a lot of fun!  My favorite part of making this bowl was definitely coming up with the design.  I really love how the design turned out and I really love the color that I chose.  I was a bit disappointed about how it cracked but I guess it just adds to the character!  In the end I had a great time making this bowl and im very happy with how it turned out.

Clay Plate

This clay plate took a while to scratch away the design but I really do like how it turned out.  My favorite part was picking out what design I wanted and also what color I wanted.  My least favorite part was listening to the color being scratched away to make the design.  But I really love the way it turned out and I had a great time making it!

Personal Logo

This logo was hard and took long but I had a great time designing it and painting it.  On the front side I did an ocean scene with little surfers to represent my summers at our beach house in Cayucos watching people surf in the morning. On the side of it I did a sunset like the ones I watch on the beach and I also painted a boot from my favorite pair of cowboy boots.

On the top of my logo a did flowers on one part because I was really stuck on what else to do but I really like how it turned out.  On the other part I painted a teacup in memory of the fun tea times me and my siblings used to have with my Oma.

On the side of the H I decided to put my favorite verses so when I see this logo I'm always reminded of it.  I like this verse because it reminds me to always trust in God because he is way bigger than any of my problems.

On the back side I decided to do this fun texture.  I used spackle and made a swirly design before it dried up.  This part reminds me of remodeling my house when we first bought it because me and my mom would fix the holes and bumps in the walls by using spackle.  I also painted it one of my favorite colors, light yellow.

Pottery dishes

To make these bowls I first had to learn how to use the wheel.  It was a challenge but aftter a while I got the hang of it and really enjoyed doing it.  After I made all my dishes I trimmed the sides and made them cleaner, then put them in the kiln.  After they were done I put glaze on them and they went in the kiln one last time.  Even though they didn't turn out perfect I had a great time making them, and the pottery wheel is definitely my favorite so far!

Clay Animal

This projects was definitely one of the hardest.   First we picked out the animal we wanted to make.  Then we sketched a rough outline of the animal and cut it out.  Then we took clay and made a  shape of the animal a little bit bigger than are sketches.  Then we started to carve them down and shape then to look real.  Then we cut them in half, hollowed them out, and put them back together.  Then when we were finished and happy with the shape we poked a hole in the bottom and put them into the  kiln.  Once they were out we painted them and we were down.  This project did take a very long time and was challenging but enjoyed it.

Realistic foam art

For this project we picked out an object we wanted to make.  I picked out an orange cut it in half and traced out the half onto paper and cut it out and used it as a model.  Then we cut foam into the shape of the paper. Over the next few days I shaved the foam block down until it made the shape I wanted then I carved the details.  Once I was happy with shape I painted it and was down.  This profect was not my favorite but it was fun to paint it.

Clay Bowl

This project was very fun to make.  First we started out with a round base of clay then we added more and more round coils on top of each other creating the shape of the bowl.  Then we smoothed everything out and they went into the kiln.  Then we glazed them, fired them, and they were done.  This was a very cool project and the firing was a fun experience.

Reed Lamp

This lamp was definitely a struggle to make and it was not my favorite project.  First we created the shape of the project with reeds and hot glued them all together.  Then we glued the edges of the reeds and tightly put tissue paper on it then cut off the extra paper that was hanging over the edge.  Then we painted a liquid onto the paper which then dried making the paper tighter.
