Introductionto Studio Art

Creative Line Drawing

This was our first project in Intro Studio Art. It took me awhile to come up with an idea but after sometime I came up with one. I had a lot of fun with this project and was happy with the outcome.

3D Story

For this art project we had to remake a story from our lives out of magazines and other things such as paper clips and rubber bands. I remade a scene of a seagull stealing my moms lunch at the beach. I used different shreds of blue and yellow things from magazines for the beach and I used a small Dixie Cups for the wings of the seagull. I had a lot of fun making this project. The hardest part was probably figuring out how to make a seagull out of the things we were given. It helped me realize that if you take you time on your project you will probably end up with a result that you enjoy more. It also helped learn that you can use anything to make art.

Clay Jar

For this art project, we made clay jars. We could make them into anything we wanted. I decided to make mine into a cotton bale. First, we shaped the clay. Once it was shaped it was hollowed out and the lid was cut. It was then fired and glazed. I am really proud of how this project turned out.

Clay Whistle

To start this project we began by making the hollow part of the whistle out of clay. Once we had the basic mechanics of the whistle made we began on the decorative parts of it. I decided to make mine into a bird. Once the shape was finished and it had been fired it was time to glaze it. I really enjoyed this project. It showed how something as simple as clay would turn into a what you would think would be a very complicated whistle.

Clay Bowl

To make this project we had to use clay coils but before we did that we had to make our plan for our bowl. To make our plan we taped paper towels to plastic bowls. We then drew our design onto the paper towels. To make the shape of the bowl we used clay coils and placed them onto our bowl. Once finished we took the clay bowl of the pattern and cleaned it up and fired it. After it was fired we glazed the bowls. I decided to glaze mine white. I really enjoyed this project and the freedom of the design we could make. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Watercolor Painting

To make this painting we first traced the outline of our underwater animal. Then we went in and made our background and finally painted the layers of our animal. This project was really fun and enjoyable to make!

Hand Drawing

To make this project we started by making the outline of our hand then we later went in and shaded our hand. I really enjoyed this project. I wish I could have worked on it longer. This is the project that made me go "Wow, I made that!"
