Intro to Art

Hand Drawing

For my hand drawing, I chose to hold a scraper/putty knife. I chose this because I thought it was easier. Some techniques and tools I used and learn this lesson was value, texture, how important lines are, and the helpful tools like the blender. The goal of this project is to understand how to add value, pattern, texture, lines, and seeing with your naked eye. Iv'e achieve this gal because I inputted this into my drawing. What I like best about my drawing is my hand what I least like in my drawing is my tool.

Insect Painting

For my insect painting, I decided to paint a lady bug because it was easier and had a popping color. Some techniques I learned was texture and smoothness, this was incorporated into my painting by adding texture to the back ground of the little box and then smoothness to the outer box. What I like best about this painting is is the color choice and the texture on the leaf that was created. What I like least about this painting is how plain, after seeing others, I think I could've found a picture with more leaves or drama/design.

Clay Whistle

For my Whistle, I chose to create Minnie Mouse. I made this to give to my baby sister. Some techniques I used for this project was, keep count of the layers of paint I put, molding, and making sure to have a sharp angle to allow the whistle to blow. What I didn't like as much about this project was making the whistle blow a sound. The best part about my project was the outcome and everything besides the sound part.

Clay Bowl

For this project I chose to make a bowl with a swirly design. Some techniques I learned was connecting everything together and smoothing out. Something I loved best about this project was creating the molds and smoothing it out. Something I didn't like during this project was the drawing the design on the paper towel.

Clay Jar

For this project I chose to make a cylinder shaped jar. I enjoyed doing this project because I got to mold and shape it with my hands. My least favorite part of the project was the aftermath of what it looks like, I don't enjoy looking at this because of the hand drawn design and color of paint. Some techniques I learned is to have fun and be creative when we had to think of designs and shapes.

Under Watercolor

For this project I decided to water color a sting ray because it seemed like an easy but challenging picture. It was challenging when I had to get ever detailed dark spot and light spots. My favorite part of this project was the whole thing. In the beginning when I was told we have to do watercolor I wasn't very happy and doubted the experience, but then toward the end I enjoyed it.

Printmaking

For this project I decided to choose this bird sitting on a piece of wood. My favorite part of this project was the printing because you got to experience the different makings of mixing colors and finding paper that compliments each other. My least favorite part of this project was the carving just because I felt pressure when I would make a mistake. Some techniques I learned during this project was just to do your own thing and not follow the picture as exact.

Cardboard Box

For this project I made a cardboard box and designed it with a tie-dye paper. My favorite part of this project was seeing the final product and that we got first pick to choose our papers. My least favorite part of the project was measuring with a ruler and using the Exacto Knife. Some techniques I learned during this project was to follow directions and get it done fast but do it with quality.

Spot the Difference

For this project my partner and I decided to take a picture of Top O' The Morn. My favorite part about this project was the feeling of being done with the project and that it goes out to kids. My least favorite part of this project was the whole making of it, It just wasn't for me and it was complicated. Some techniques my partner and I did was talked/ communication helped us throughout the project.
