Creative Lines

I choose art because it's fun and I've heard good things about the class. We used colored pencils for this project and we learned to blend and use shadows. I was stuck for an idea of what to do for a really long time but then Tessa inspired me by telling me to make it into a pinball machine. I like that everything ended up looking good and that you can tell that it's actually an archade. I didn't like that I put the money thing on the wave simulator off of the machine. I also didn't  draw the sides right on it.

Hand Holding a Tool

We used different sizes and shades of pencils for this. We started by drawing dots and connecting them to get the basic shape of the hand and tool.  We learned how to shade with different pencils. And eventually, it all came together to make the picture we wanted it too. I really liked this project and I learned a lot

Landscape Painting

We used acrylic paint for this. We used 8 days to paint the picture. I really struggled in the beginning because I couldn't figure out how to paint my picture in a way that looked good. Since I couldn't figure this out the paint color and when I would look at the picture it would throw me off. I decided to stop looking at the photo and instead started to paint the picture that was in my mind. It helped me greatly because now my painting looks how I want it to. And I am now proud to say that I painted this picture and I don't care what other people say about it because I put my blood sweat and tears into this piece and I really am proud that I did this.

Clay Jars

We used clay for this. I really struggled in the beginning because I couldn't figure out what to make my jar into. At first, I wanted to do a Stanley cup, then a stack of pancakes, and then someone finally gave me the idea for a cowboy hat. I was originally going to do a design on the top but then I didn't like it and decided to just do a design on the bottom. I really enjoyed making this. I'm not the most thrilled at how it turned out but ultimately it was pretty good.

Clay Bowl

I did one bowl first but it broke in the kiln. After that I was having surgury but I had a great idea for my bowl. I would just make a bunch of clay balls and make that my bowl. Since I couldn't do it my friends did it for me and then I came back and glazed it. I really really like this one and I'm glad I decided to re-do it and that my friends were willing to help me.

Clay Whistle

We made clay whistles. I really struggled to get it to whistle but then Reese helped me. I first was making a platypus but it made my whistle not whistle anymore. So then I decided to make a turtle. I'm really really happy with it and I think it turned out so good.

Oil Pastel Insect

I picked the picture because it was pretty.  I really stuggled on the wings. In the picture they were colorful but I couldn't figure out how to make them like that. So I did my best. The background was also difficult. The flower was yellow but the quality of the yellow was bad so I made it pink.

Underwater water color

I did this picture because I wanted to do a stingray. At first I started out doing monochramatic purple but it didnt turn out good so then I restarted and did monochromatic blue instead and it turned out good. The most difficult part was figuring out how to make a difference between the background and the sting ray.

Bird Print

The project was one that I enjoyed I had fun with the prints and enjoyed the many different prints that I was able to make. I really enjoyed the carving and thought it was fun to cut peaices out of the plate at the beginning but after teh second day of carving things out I was sick of it and would have enjoyed it if some one else took over for me.

Box with Name

I think that this was a really good end of the year project. I had a lot of fun making it. We first had to pick a name and font and then carve it into a piece of metal. We had to cut out pieces for the box. Then put them together. We had to pick out paper and wrap the box with it. Then we had to make the lid and finish it up.
