Introduction to Studio Art

Line Connection Project

In this art project everyone drew a random line and 9 of them were put together and everyone had to draw something with all of the lines being connected. I couldn't think of anything for a while so I decided to go with a racetrack. I thought that it turned out good for a first project.

Hand Drawing

In this art project, we snaped a picture of our hand holding a tool and we doubled the size and drew it. After we drew the hand and the tool, we gave it value. After we shaded the hand we glued it onto a black paper for something like a frame. I was very impressed with myself and I thought I could never do something like this, I am very proud of how this came out.

Bug Painting Project

In this project, we were instructed to find a picture of a bug, then we traced it then painted it. At first, I thought it was going to be difficult and I was right in some cases. My background was not good so I did it again then it looked better. The bug was also a little difficult but it was fun to paint it. I chose a Preying Mantis because I like how they look and they are interesting bugs. Overall, there were some bumps in the making of the painting but it was fun and I am satisfied with how it turned out.

Jar Project

When I started this project I was very exited. I knew from the beginning I wanted to make a pepsi can. While I was working on it I thought that it would look identical then the more I kept working the more I realised that it won't look like a pepsi can. While I was painting it, I thought that it wouldn't look good because the paint looks really different than how it turned out but overall I am really happy with how this turned out.

Clay Whistle

When I started this project I felt really confident and thought that it would be easy. Later, I realised that I was wrong, it got very difficult and it was very difficult to get the whistle to work. When I got the whistle to work I went straight to work on decorating it. Although, when we flamed it, his eye and foot fell off. So when I was glazing it, I painted an eye for him, but that didn't work. Overall, he lost an eye and a foot and barely whistles. But it is still very epic.

Clay Bowl

In this project we made a clay bowl and we were supposed to glaze it like the other 3d art projects. When we started, I knew I wanted to make my bowl look like a swedish flag and looking at it now I am very happy with how this project turned out. It was pretty simple when I started and it was very easy to finish and glaze and out of all of the projects this is the one im most happy with.

Watercolor Animal Painting

In this project we were instructed to paint an aquatic animal using watercolor. In the beginning I was very excited and wanted to paint an orca, my favorite aquatic animal. In the beginning I wanted to do monochromatic because I thought it would most likely be the simplest but I did it wrong and I added black to make the blue darker but you're supposed to add more blue paint or less water so it all came out black but it still worked. The best part of the whole project I would say is either the baackground or the black, I really like how it turned out but in my opinion the worst part is the mouth and the white. When it gets darker you can see all of the areas where it gets darker and lighter. But overall I had a fun time with this project.

Build a 3D Story

In this assignment, we were supposed to tell a story that happened to us by building a 3D sculpture with materials around our house. I really liked doing this assignment because it was a really fun and I worked quite a bit on it and I really like how it turned out. I told the story about when I got hit in the face with a baseball and I had the popsicle sticks as teeth and the middle three teeth were supposed to fall because that's what happened basically.
