In this project, we made a clay design plate. This project went much smoother than the last one and I enjoyed it more. In this project, we picked a design and then scraped off the outlined design from a plastic design piece. I had a good time doing this project and turned out well.
In this project we used clay to make a lantern and this is the finish product of the lantern. I enjoyed the lantern project even though there were some struggles along the way as I had some of my pieces of my legs and top part of the lantern and had to try and re-apply it. This project had its hard parts to it but I ended up liking the end result.
In this project, we made a realistic foam item. The item I decided to use for this project was a roll of tape. I decided to use a roll of tape because I thought it would be easier and pretty straight forward, though it did give me more challenges than I originally thought it would. This project was hard to make sure the circle was even and not too far cut out. It was also a challenge to paint this project because I had to mix a lot of colors and it took a lot of trial and error to ensure the color was right. It was also hard to paint the inside lines straight and I believe that was the toughest part of this project. Other than the challenges that I faced, though this project wasn't my favorite, I think that with the challenges it turned out decent.
Clay Coil Pot
For this project, I made a pot out of clay coils. It took some time to figure it out, but it turned out well. We first used paper to cut out the project and see what it would look like. We then started adding coils until it matched the red paper. The hardest part of this project was making sure the coils were lining up straight, as well as the coils being smooth. I enjoy what this project ended up being and was.
In this project, we used the wheels as well as clay to make bowls and cups out of clay. This project took some time to figure out due to the wheel and getting the hang of it. After I was finally able to learn the feel of using the wheel, it got easier, and I was able to make some cups and bowls. The hardest part of this project was centering the clay, which I was never really able to accomplish without help. This was probably our quickest project, only lasting about a week and a half total with trimming and putting it into the kiln. This project turned out good and I liked how they ended up looking.
In this project, we made a lamp out of a piece of firewood and used thin round wood thread pieces and thin paper to make the lantern. When I first started this project, it took me some time to learn how to do everything, and at first, it looked tough to do. After I got started and got going on the project, it started to be more repetitive like and I got used to it as we would drill holes and also apply the top layer of paper. This project ended up turning out pretty good after taking some time to get the hang out how to do things.
