This is my story I created with randome materials and AI. This is the story of when I was canyoneering in Utah. The Canyon I was in was called Keyhole, so I shaped the top to try and resemble a keyhole. At the bottom of the canyon was melted snow water and I didn't have a wet suit. In my diarama you can see me rappelling and while rappelling I look excited, but when I touch the water, life up the first picture and see me scared.
This is my drawing of my hand holding a tool (paint brush). I was really nervous to start this project because I get very impatient with my drawings so they don't turn out very well. However, I was very pleased with how this drawing turned out. The steps to make this project was to start out with measuring (dot to dot) then shading. By doing this project I learned the differences in the pencils and how to shade correctly. This will definitely help me as I contunue drawing!
This is my painting of a cactus I saw while I was hiking in Utah. Painting is not one of my strong suits. I had spent many class hours perfecting the dirt until I was proud of it. My struggle was always the blending because when I would try to blend but instead of adding drama, one color would just take over. Eventually I figured out how to get the paint to work for me. The cactuses turned out amazing and saved my painting. When I decided that I wanted spikes, I tried to pain them on, but the brush made the spikes look fuzzy. After I painted over it, I decided to try with a paint pen. I loved it! I am very happy with what I learned and the finished product.
I really loved doing this project because I saw inspiration on the internet and liked trying to recreate it my own way. Oringinally, I didn't want to have a lid because I liked the jar as an incense diffuser, but I'm glad a made a lid because it is a great jar for hiding chocolate from my dad (he likes to steal my chocolate). The lid was also where I decided to glaze on some super cute flowers. I didn't do so great on glazing evenly, that is what sort of bothers me on this project. However, now I have grown a little more familiar with glazing so that I know how to coat evenly for my next project!
Mr. Langmaack told me to make my whitstle the best in the class, and I definitely think that I accomplished that! My whistle is an elegant swan and I had a lot of fun making her and adding all the details. She turned out really well, but I probably should have done another white coat because you can kind of see the actual clay color poking through the white now that she is glazed. (At the time it looked all covered, but I lost count of 2 or 3 coats). I am very proud of this project and have learned alot.
This project definitely took some time to think about what I wanted to do. I wanted my bowl to be super cute, but stand out and be different. (I think I accomplished that). At first I didn't know what I would use this bowl for, until my friend pointed out to me that I could use it for my yarn! So I wanted to come up with an adorable pattern that I would love forever. I also picked a neutral color so that it would look cute in many different places. I put what I learned from glazing my jar to practice and made sure to glaze evenly.
I really enjoyed working on my water color. At times is was scary since it was a new expirience for me and I didn't do so well on the practice project. After asking for some help and remembering that I could add my own creative twists to my painting, I got something that I am very proud of. When working on this project, I didn't like how boring the backround looked, so I added different shades and more layers in some areas to make it a little more interesting.
This project was difficult for me. I was ambicious after my success with my watercolor painting and picked a more interesting picture for this project. Since there was so many different colors and new ways to do things, I struggled. After seeking help I feel like I was able to overcome the backround and make the flowers interesting. My favorite part of this project was definitely the butterfly because I got to mix oil pastel with baby oil and paint the detail of the butterfly on.
This was a very fun project. It was fun and sort of relaxing to carve into the stamp and the creative part could come out a bit more when we were stamping. I printed on newspaper, banana leaf paper, regular paper and I even made prints in the same ink on different paper to layer. My favorite one was the pink print on watercolor paper. I am really happy that we ended the year with this project!
