I learned a lot from this project, it was really difficult with the few resorces we had but I am very proud of how it turned out. my favorite part was probably using the hot glue and making everything nice and sturdy. my least favorite part was when I couldn´t figure out how to make the shark. all in all I had a really fun time working on this project and am very excited for the next one.
in this activity i learned how to draw my hand holding a tool using pencils erasers and a slip of paper. this activity was very difficult for me but extremely rewarding once i got it done and was able to be proud of my work. i have never drawn anything this detailed before so i was very satisfied with the outcome of my project. my favorite part of this activity was being able to blend the pencil to make it look 3D and use an electric eraser to make it look shiny. all in all this was a very fun and rewarding project.
with this project i learned about acrylic paint. first i chose a picture of a landscape and then put it through an AI generator to make it look painted. after i printed the paper out i colored over the entire back of the paper with a pencil and put that over out canvas, then i traced the bigger objects of the painting and began to paint. it took a few tries to get the sky right but once i got it satisfactory i painted the water and sand. then came the hardest part, the grass. there was originally a fence through the grass but i decided not to paint it because it didn't look good. i had to go over it many many times, but once i got the technique down it was much easier. my favorite part was when it finally looked good and it gave me that happy feeling of pride.
in this project we used clay and glaze to make a bowl. i started by brainstorming design ideas on a piece of paper, and when i had one i liked, i started to sketch it on a paper covered bowl. once i had the deign down first in pencil then sharpie. i got coils of clay and started putting them on the outside along the design and blended them together so they stayed secure. then i let it dry a bit with a hairdryer just enough to get it off the original bowl. once i had finished making some final adjustments to the not dry yet bowl i put it in the kiln room to wait for it to be fired. after it was fired the first time i put on 3 coats of light blue glaze and let it fire again. i was very happy with how it turned out and i learned a lot from this project, such as you want to make sure your design has enough detail to make it look cool but not so much to make it hard t create. i loved working with the clay so this was a very enjoyable project for me.
in this project we were challenged with creating a jar that resembled nothing. it honestly was kinda hard for me for some reason because i like to base what i make off of things, but i had a really good time making it. i started by getting a ball of clay and forming it into a sphere and then i got these little smoothing things and made divits all around the sphere. i made a base for it then i took a string and cut a jagged line though the top to make a lid that would stay. then i hollowed the inside of the clay and a little bit out of the top. once i was happy with the shape of my jar i let it get fired the first time, then i glazed 3 coats of white and then a coat of colors to give it a pop. once i was done glazeing i fired it again and then i was done.
i loved this project because i was really challenging but super fun to see completed. we started with a ball of clay and a little rectangle of clay, i cut the ball in half and made equally sized bowls out of them and then i put the bowls together and blended them together to make a perfect sphere. once i had the ball i put the small rectangle on the top and gentally blended it to the ball. once it was secure i flattened it to be able to sit straight. once i was done with that i got a reed shaped popsicle stick and stuck it into the rectangle until i got to the hollow part of the ball, then i got a pencil and put it thorough the ball as close to the wall as i could. i then smoothed the hole to like a passage so the wind could go through and whistle. once i was satisfide with the whistle i started making the design. i based my whistle off of the pokemon spheal and i think i nailed it. once i was done making it the right shape i fired, glazed, then fired again and i am super happy with the results.
when creating this masterpiece i had to learn how to blend and sharpen lines with my watercolor paints, which is a very new medium to me. we started like almost every other flat art piece with the printed piece of paper with lots of pencil scribbles on the back and then traced over the top to get a rough outline on the watercolor paper, once i finished that i got a black pen and outlined over the pencil, this part was easy but i was nervous it would be something i would want to redo but thankfully i was all good. once outlining was done i used the analogous colors of purple-red, purple, blue-purple, and blue to make a very light background. once the background was complete and dry so i didn't have the paint bleed i started on the octopus. i had to start very light so i would be able to have light and dark spots on the painting that would pop. i continued the layers over the next few weeks and slightly added color on the shading. i was very happy with how all the colors blended and had an overall great experience with this medium!
