My Watercolor Painting

My watercolor painting had to have been my favorite project yet. In art, we spent a lot of time practicing making layers with watercolor paint before actually moving on to our final watercolor project. I've never been a big fan of water coloring, but it was surprisingly fun for me to practice it and test my skills. Although it took a lot of time to finish, it was fun to draw a sea animal and paint it with watercolor. My favorite part had to have been painting my animal. I had chosen to do a seahorse and was excited to use what I had learned about watercolor to bring my drawing to life. At first, it was a challenge to use different tones of orange in different areas of my painting because I was worried that it wouldn't all come together and look life-like. It was tough, but luckily, Mr. Langmaack gave me helpful feedback, and I was very proud of my finished product!

My Oil Pastel  Painting

I truly enjoyed turning my printed picture into an oil pastel copy! It's so rewarding to have my finished product look like the real picture (and maybe even better than I real picture)! I was surprised to see that I was able to make soemthing beautiful and realistic in a few weeks. One thing I did have  a hard time with in the begnning was blending my backround. Thankfully, I had the help of my teacher and friends. Once I followed their advice, my backround looked very clean and full of color! I was happy to see that all the colors blended well together and that my butterfly and flower had clear, vibrant colors.

My Bird Stamp Print

This project taught me a lot about having patience. It's not always easy to be precise and take the time to cut out all the details in your stamp. Although it took a while to cut out my stamp, it was worth it when it printed perfectly on paper. I enjoyed playing with different ink colors and paper, and it was also fun to see everyone's creative stamp prints. What I like most about this project is that I got to test my carving skills. It was challenging, but I enjoyed having it as my last project!
