Clay Bowl

In the first project of the year we made a clay bowl. we learned how to add patterns and textures on the inside of our bowls. I like how my bowl turned out because of the curved in pointed edges I added as detailing. The color I chose is navy blue because It is my favorite color as well as my best friends favorite color who I am gifting the bowl too. I liked this project and am very happy with how my bowl turned out.

Clay Square plate

In this project we used a stencil to cut out parts of the glaze that we wanted to shine through. I chose the color blue because it matches my room colors and will match my bowl I made previously before this. I really liked this project because it was easy but gave me a lot of creative freedom.

Personal Logo

In this project we made a personal logo that we felt would represent us. I chose to add a road map in a sense of where all I've lived and what things have impacted me overtime. My favorite music artists, A cheer leading megaphone, Water with a Surf board next to snow skis, and a horns down logo on the front side all represent parts of my life and personality. I also added pictures with friends from Texas and some of my favorite quotes that have stuck with me throughout life. Finally I added my favorite bible verses that have gotten me through hard times of trials and tribulations and reminds me of God's Sovereignty and Goodness throughout my life reminding me to lean on him and trust that what he's doing if right and good.

3D Animal

In this project we went through various steps with the clay from large solid pieces to hallowing out the inside and "stitching" the animal back together and adding texture. I enjoyed this project because although it was tedious it was well worth it getting to chose what animal and making it come to life!

Realistic foam Item

In this project we found a handheld size item and attempted to make a realistic copy made out of foam. I chose a phone charger to make. We took the prongs out of the actual charger and attached them to the foam as well as spraying the shaped foam with a polish to give the item a shiny top coat. I liked this project because It was simple but creative and took not too much time.

Pottery wheel

I really enjoyed this project because it was creative yet challenging. When my group started on the wheel I felt discouraged because I couldn't get the shape I wanted in my bowls. But as time went on I started getting the hang of it and it became fun! we then waited to claze it and I chose colors that would match my room. I really like how they turned out and would do this project again.

Clay Coil Vase

This project was by far my favorite to do. from constructing it from clay coils to carving out the pattern and firing the vase, it was a fun project and I learned a lot. looking at it at face value you probably couldn't guess how it was shaped unless you knew already. we constructed these vases out of round clay coils and then smoothing them out. Then we carved it to the pattern that we desired, painted, and then fired it outside. I would 100% do this project again, it took a lot of time but I really love the outcome of what it turned out like!

Wood and Paper Lamp

This project was simple but creative. I took a unique way of gluing the paper and layering it to make it have a pattern to it. the lamp I turned into looking like a snail because it reminded me of one and I thought it would be cute. while this wasn't my favorite project it was still fun and a good use of time and materials.
