Self Portrait
This portrait was on paper and I used pencil. I learned while doing this how to use a pencil and a blending stump to get any shade of pencil that I wanted to get. I was inspired to do this piece because Mr. Langmack told us that that was the first thing that we were going to draw. My goal for this project was to make a portrait that looks very similar to me, and I think that I achieved it very well. It is exactly what I hoped for. I like how the ears and how the dimples turned out, but I think that the hair could have been done better, and the eyes are maybe a little bit too dark. I will know for future drawings that you can't make a good drawing quickly.
I chose this thing to paint because I really enjoy eating egg burritos. The media that I used was paint on canvas. I learned that paintings are better when they don't look like a picture, but instead like more just like what the thing you are painting feels like. I was inspired by this project because I really like egg burritos. It means a lot to me because it is my first good painting. My goal for this project was to paint a realistic egg burrito, and I achieved my goal. It is what I hoped for, and I think that others will respond very well to it, and they will like it. My least favorite part is probably the piece of bacon, because I don't think that it turned out that well. For my next painting I will know that it is better to have a painting not be like a picture.
I chose this because that was what Mr. Langmack decided that that was what we were going to do. The media that I used was a black paper where when it was scratched, it would reveal white underneath the black. I learned that you need to get both fine detail and the general shape, all while also maintaining the direction of the fur or feathers. My goal for this project was just to make a good piece of scratch art. I feel like I did a good job at achieving what I had hoped for. I like how the featherless face turned out, and I think that it is really good. I don't like how the main body section to the left of the beak turned out, as it looks like the body is appearing out of nowhere. This will influence my next art pieces by making them better as this piece has given me a lot of experience in art in general.
I chose this house to paint because it looked like something that I would enjoy painting and it had a lot of stuff going on in it, a lot of shadows, and a fair bit of different colors. The media for this piece was watercolor on paper, with pen for the lines. I learned much better than before how to make a good watercolor. My goal for this was to make a good watercolor, and I feel like I achieved it fairly well. I feel I could have done better on the final details. I think that others will respond very well to it, as to someone who isn't an artist it will seem very good. I liked best the shadows that were below the facade. I liked least the bushes, as they seem flat, and the window on the very left, as I messed up on it. This will influence my future artworks a fair bit, as I will know much better how to make a good watercolor.
I had originally chosen to do a picture of the Millenium Falcon, but after a few hours, I scratched that idea because there was too much detail, and it would have taken many more hours than it had already taken. This was my next best idea, and I am glad I decided on it because I am very happy with how it turned out. I used colored pencil and regular pencil on paper for this project. This piece means a fair bit to me, as the original is my profile picture for google. My goal for this project was to make a good drawing, and I feel achieved my goal well. It is what I had hoped for, and I think that others will respond well to it. I like best the shading that is on the boosters from shadows, and I like least the mini blue flames coming from the main shuttle engines. This will influence my future artworks by allowing me to create even better artworks because I know more than when I started this project.
