Clay Lantern

For this lantern I used clay as the material. I was trying to make the lantern look ancient and old. I cut around 3 holes per side in order to let the light of a candle to make it look better. One thing that I would change with the lantern is to at a piece of clay at the top as a handle to crab  the lid more easily and to make it aesthetically better.

Clay plate

I chose this design on the plate because it was a simple design with big shapes instead of the other designs that were more extravagant. If I were to do it again I would have tried to challenge myself a bit more with a more complex design.

Personalized Logo

For this logo, I wanted it to look simple because I think that too much on it would look chaotic. I painted a track on the top because Track is my favorite sport, I painted a soccer ball because soccer is also one of my favorite sports. I picked the colors blue and black because those are my favorite colors.

Clay ANimal

I chose a cheetah for my clay animal because of its speed which is also why I made it in a running pose. This project was a lengthy process of carving and shaping to get it how I wanted it. If I were to do it again I would put more time into shaping the cheetah (especially the head) to look better.

Foam replica

I chose to replicate my Airpod case out of foam because it was simpler than my other ideas, both in carving and painting. The hardest part of this project was getting the curves correct on the sides and top. One thing I would change about my project would be to take a closer look at the differences between the foam replica and the actual thing so I could make little changes to make it look better.

Clay Wheel Creations

This project was really fun because we got to use the clay wheels. The hardest part of this project was centering the clay on the wheel in order to start the process. After the clay wheel we trimmed them and fired them. Afterwards we put a unique glaze on them that caused them to turn out with the random dots of melted glass which look very cool.

Clay Pot

This project was one of my most enjoyable projects. I had a template made previously to work off it but it did not go according to plan so I free styled a little bit. I loved doing to clay coils that were used to create and shape the pot. Before going into the kiln for first time we created our designs on it. Then after the kiln we put our glazes on and put it in the big kiln to use the smoke method. One thing I would change about my pot is making the opening smaller instead of making it so wide.

Reed Lamp

The reed lamp was our most open project meaning we had the most freedom with it. For me this was a downside because given so much freedom my creativity shuts down. I first found a specific branch that I wanted to use and worked the reeds around that. This turned our to be a super easy and fast project for the last project of the year. This project I wish was earlier in the year so I wasn't ready to be done with school, then I would have taken more time to make a better lamp.
