Cameroon

For this upcoming project, I am eager to begin creating the portrait. I am either going to use water color or oil pastels. If I succeed in correctly shading and blending oil pastels, I will go that direction. I think that they will make the project most interesting if done right. I think the project will be somewhat difficult but I am confident I will do well.

Pencil

Pencil has always been a comfortable media for me. However, I thought this practice should have turned out better. Regardless, I want to do the final project in color and I keep pencil in consideration as a back up media.

Oil Pastel

This was my first time doing oil pastels and I really enjoyed it. I had much more success with these than I thought I would. They were extremely easy to blend and were very forgiving. I have decided on using oil pastels for the final project.

Watercolor

Although I have done watercolor before, I struggled heavily on this practice. I was not too happy with results even though I spent a good chunk of time on it. Making a portrait in watercolor is more advanced than I imagined.

Colored Pencil

Colored pencils are one of my favorite medias. I like how detailed and concentrated they are. This practice was helpful, but I prefer using colored pencils for vehicles.

Final

Personally, I think the end product turned out really well. I was surprised how much of a difference the little details made. If I could, I would apologize to Faith for having to live in such violent conditions. I wish I could reassure him and uplift him. Maybe this project can accomplish that. I really hope he enjoys his portrait and I can't wait to see his reaction.
