Intro to Art

Story Project

This project seemed simple in the beginning but once I started brainstorming I realized that it would be much harder than expected. I went through 3 different stories before I finally chose this one to create. I chose this story because it showed movement through the rubber band and how we got launched off the tube and the day ended with Kamryn having a black eye. This project was a good introduction the the art year and taught me the ways of this class.

Hand Drawing

This drawing is of my hand holding a paint scraper. It was super challenging for me to wrap my head around and to get all the blending right. There were some rough patches in this project where I just didn't know where to go but I persevered and got it done in the end.

Clay Jar

This was a clay jar I made in art. Its not my favorite thing ive made and id even say its a little ugly but Im still proud of myself for finishing it even when I wanted to stop doing it because I didnt like it. This project taught me about perseverance because I couldve given up on it but I stayed strong doing the task I was given.

Clay Whistle

This is my favorite thing ive made in this class so far. It is a little rat with the blowhole being a piece of cheese. I really liked the process of creating this and am now considering doing 3D art next year because of how fun it was to make this. From this project I learned that with the right inspiration picture it makes making the whistle, mug, jar, painting, etc. so much easier so that is something I will carry forward into my next projects.

Clay Bowl

I didnt really like this project because I was absent for most of it and had to play catch up and pick an easy design. I wish I had done another layer of glaze and glazed in the cracks more. I still had fun doing this project and it was a good experience to get better at working with clay.

Underwater Watercolor

I really liked this painting and the process of making it. I had to restart in the beginning because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to so I chose a new picture and I liked the color scheme and outcome of it a lot better. I liked the process of adding many layers and textures to my painting.

Insect Oil Pastel Painting

I did not like this project. The blending was super hard for me to do and I don ´ t like how it ended up coming out. It could've been way better but I'm still glad I got some practice in and this will for sure come out better next time I try and do something like this.

Bird Printmaking Book

This project was really fun and I really enjoyed getting to play around with the different types of prints I could make. I didn't have the best outcome but I think if I spent a little more time on it it would've came out better but overall I enjoyed having a long time spent getting to know the ways of this class and hanging out with my friends and getting to know Langmaack even better!
