Intro to Studio Art

Creative line drawing

This was my first project in intro to art class. I used 9 different shaped lines and made an underwater scene. I had never worked with colored pencils like this and never realized there were different techniques to shade a drawing. Overall I like this project although if I would do it again I would color it a little neater.

Hand Drawing

This was my second art project in intro to art class. I used different pencils that would make different shades on the paper. I hadn't really used different types of pencils for shading. Overall I liked this project although if I would do it again I would make sure my shading matched the picture.

Bug Painting

This was my third art project in intro to art class. I used different paints and colors to make sure my painting wasn't flat. I haven't really done a lot of painting before this project. Overall I liked this project although if I would do it again I would make sure my border had a clear edge.

Clay Whistle

This was my fourth art project in intro to art class. I used different glazes and tools to make my whistle look this way. At first I didn't know what to make it look like but I decided on a bird. If I would do it over again I would probably make my whistle look like something else or do more detail on it.

Clay Jar

This was my fifth project in art class. I used clay and different glazes to make the jar look the way it did. I haven't ever used glaze before so it was really fun to use them. Overall, I like my jar but if I would do it again I would make sure that the actual jar looked better.

Clay Bowl

This was my sixth project in art class. I used clay and different glazes to make the bowl look the way it did. I used glaze with the jar and whistle so it was really fun to use them on my bowl too. Overall, I like my bowl but if I would do it again I would make sure that the bowl was smoother and more proportional.

Underwater Watercolor

This was my seventh project in art class. I used an analogous color scheme of yellow, green, and blue to watercolor my turtle. This was my first time doing real watercolor and I thought it was really fun. Overall, I like my turtle although if I could change it I would make the background neater and also design the turtle's face differently.

Foam Box

This was my last project in art class. I used a ruler and measured different sizes of foam to make my box. I chose a jean print and a silver piece of metal for my name. I really loved this project and getting to build my own box. If I would do it again I would make sure everything was neat and measured correctly.
