India

Preflection Paragraph: In class, each student picked, at random, an orphan from India and is going to create a portrait of them. We will use either pencils, oil pastels, or colored pencils. We are doing this as a fun gift for them to receive something that was handmade and just for them.  I am excited to be able to create a portrait, give it to them and see their reaction.

I really liked being able to use different medias on the same picutre to see all of the different styles there could be. I liked doing all of them but the oil pastel (middle picture) was my favorite to do. I chose to do the oil pastel for the self portrait project because I feel that it will be the best way to portray them.

Final Portrait

I had a lot of fun being able to do this project and send it to them. I liked getting to learn how to use oil pastels for the first time, I did have some trouble with the teeth and the lips because they are so detailed and hard to get right with oil pastels, but I think that it turned out pretty good in the end.

I hope that this portrait brings joy and happiness to him and that he enjoys it.
