My story is about when my friends and I got stuck in the middle of the lake at Camp Cavalier. My friends and I were on the paddle boats in the lake at camp when the pedals stopped working. They had gotten jammed so we were stuck on the lake. We started to panic thinking one of us was going to have to swim in the lake to push the boat back to shore. But, we saw two of our friends and one pulled us while I held on and the other pushed us. They got us back to the dock thankfully so we didn't have to jump in the lake and swim back to shore.
This hand drawing was very challenging. I had a hard time learning the line copying technique. It was challenging on which line to start on. It was also confusing on how to connect the lines. It was definitely a trust the process type of project. The shading was also very challening for me. It was challenging trying to get it to look exactly as the picture with all the same details. That is why this project was very challenging for me.
The landscape painting for me was probably the most challenging piece of art I have ever done. At first I chose a picture that was very detailed. Eventually, after a few days, I decided to paint a different picture. I chose a more simple picture the second time around. The second picture went way better. I was able to learn from my mistakes on the first painting and make my second painting better. Overall, this painting was a very good learning experience and I made progress in my painting skills.Â
This project was extremely fun. I enjoyed getting to design a jar of my choice and do what I wanted with it. It was fun to do something other than painting. My strength in art is definitely more towards clay than painting. I enjoyed getting to learn more about clay and start with simple before we moved to more difficult projects with clay. Overall I am very happy and feel I learned a lot about clay with this project.
This project is by far my favorite project we have done so far. It was so fun to be able to bring one of my favorite characters come to life from a brown circle. At the beginning of this project I had a mouth, an eye, and horns on the whistle and that was it. I thought I was done but I was far from done. Mr. Langmaack helped me to go even further with it and add arms and legs which made it so much better. It was so great learning how to take things a step further even if I think I can't.
This project was definitely a learning experience. I really enjoyed getting to grow on my water color skills. The practice shell did not turn out the way I wanted to but it taught me what to do and what not to do. I learned not to put water on the animal while painting the background. The darker I made the turtle, the better it made it. There were multiple times I thought I was done but I wasn't actually. Watercolor is so flexible and there are so many things you can do to improve your painting. Overall, this painting was a lot of fun and taught me a lot about watercolor.
This project taught me a lot about oil pastels. At the beginning of this project I thought I needed multiple layers of pastels but I really only needed one layer. It was not like watercolor. I learned not everything has to be smooth and it's okay to have some texture. Overall, this project was a learning experience but I'm happy with how it turned out.
This project was very unique and unlike anything I had every done before. The process was a lot of fun and interesting to see how all the different steps contributed to the final project. The carving was kind of tedious but I would do this project over and over again. Getting to print different colors and make different backgrounds made this project even better and I'm very happy with how my final prints turned out. Overall, this project was definitely one my my favorites we did in Intro to Art.
