During this project, all of the kids in my class drew lines, and we chose nine lines to stick with. We had no idea what was coming, but we made a masterpiece with the lines. Our goal was to hide them, so the viewer cannot see where they are. My friend Presley Zonneveld and I decided to conquer this art piece together. Our pieces are trains connecting from Vermont to New York. If you would like to see hers, view Presley Zonneveld's Portfolio. I had no idea that I could create such creative artwork using just nine lines and colored pencils, but I did, and I am proud of myself. My favorite part about this project was getting to work on it alongside my friend and watching our lines transform into artwork.
Throughout this project in class, all of the students chose an object to hold to take a photo with. I chose to use a paint brush, because it symbolizes creativity and difference. The paint brushes bristles are all different from each other just like God created us all differently. The hardest part in this drawing was the shading. I have never been great at art, but I tried my hardest to create my best work. My favorite part about this was drawing the lines and working to create the outline of my artwork.
In this project, we chose a landscape, from our photos, or google and painted it. I chose a landscape photo from my wonderful trip to Turks and Caicos. My family went there 2 summers ago, and it was on of my favorite trips ever. Whether I was looking at the crystal clear bright turquoise waters or a beautiful sunset like this, I could see God's handiwork everywhere. The hardest part of this painting was trusting my gut and to not let my eyes deceive me. Multiple times, I restarted or wanted to restart a section and then I looked at it from farther away and realized that I actually did a great job!
In this project, I constructed a lantern out of clay and then glazed it for a beautiful finished project. This wasn't all unicorns and rainbows, but I pushed through and finished! My favorite part of this project was at the end, putting the candle in and seeing it light up! The holes really let the light shine through beautifully. The hardest part of this project was choosing my design on the top. I knew what I wanted for the sides, but the top was hard to design with the handle. It ended up looking really good and I am proud of myself!
In this project, I learned how to make a bowl out of clay. This project took some time, but it was probably my favorite. I tried super hard on this project and I think my hard work paid off! My favorite part was showing my mom the finished product because now it in our kitchen, actually being used!
In this project, I made a whistle out of clay. This was the hardest project I have done. I had to have the help of friends and Langmaack to make the whistle work. I could not do it for the life of me. From the beginning I knew I wanted to make an elephant, so seeing come to life was so fun! Every class period I would leave class with clay on my lips from trying so hard! Overall, I'm so proud of how I did!
In this project, I got to choose any underwater creature to watercolor. A dolphin has always been my favorite animal, so I immediately knew I wanted to paint it. Seeing it come to life was so fun. My favorite part was the sky in the background because I loved watching the colors flow together! This project might have been my favorite one yet! Watercolor is hard, but this made it super fun!
