I like this project mainly because it was my first personal piece and I'm personally really proud of it because of that. It felt like my first step to may projects I'll create in the future. For this project I decided to make a Mace, the biggest most surprising problem I had was trying to put the spikes on the ball at the end of the chain just due to how it looked in all viewports and it was really weird and difficult to do this part and tedious but eventually with the utilization of all viewports and tools I finally got it all to be against the ball and look as good as I could get it with my knowledge at the time. This project was made purely out of basic primitives which is what makes a block out so the basic learning of how to make a block out and how the simplicity can give you a good base to go off of for future projects.
I liked this piece and I am proud of it because I personally thought this piece was cool. I don't think it's my best piece but I like it. It wasn't exactly difficult but it was more time consuming for me, time wise this took me longer because i kept forgetting to make some pieces and sometimes the modifiers weren't working so I'd have to delete and add the modifier again because sometimes it wouldn't work for some reason but eventually I got it done and did it and I finished this scene. I learned a bunch of modifiers that will definitely be helpful for future projects and kind of just getting a feel for making a scene just in general
I'm proud of this project because it is my most complex and variety use of tools in 3Ds and I really enjoyed making this project. I had a few set backs but the most prominent problem I had was the fact the Array tool wasn't working for like 1000 times till I got it to but for some reason it continued to be that way which was weird but it eventually worked and I got it done. The use of modifiers and the boolean tool was good to learn more about how to use the different modes of boolean and be able to play with that tool more and also the introduction into splines which was really cool and they will definitely be useful.
I really loves this one mainly because it was my first use of just splines but also because it was a real world object so you know how it's supposed to look and it's so cool in my opinion. I had to restart the spline every time I messed it up so I had to continuously restart over and over which was infuriating but eventually I calmed down a bit I got it done and figured it out. Ok, so the fact of editing the splines. If you hit the backspace while still working on the spline you can delete the vertices you place down which makes it so much easier to edit which I only found out after but still very useful for future spline projects.
I love this piece because it was my first introduction to doing a full sub-object thing really, and because I really like creepy things so I really liked this project. I faced a few problems with applying some modifiers like the champher, that one was kind of difficult and I messed it up some but after playing with some of the sub-object modes I figured it out and finished the project. It was the first time that someone said "just test and feel it out you can always undo it" which was really freeing because I hadn't done a lot of that yet so it was nice to be told that because it kind of freed me to explore which I will definitely use in future projects.
This project was by far the MOST challenging of the quarter in my opinion. this project had a lot or road blocks and problems but I'm really proud it turned out so well despite how many challenges it faced. the substance maps were a pain to work with during this project because you had to keep making sure they worked and rendered properly and you had to find ones that worked and showed up and finally I did find enough that worked well enough to render correctly and worked it out and the best part about this project is that I succeeded in making it look good. that's what I'm most proud of with this is that I got it to look good through all that difficulty.
Despite this being a practice I'm pretty proud of how it turned out because it was my first time working with UVW despite being really simple it was really fun and I really like it. This project was something brand new I got to work with to expand my knowledge of maps. I really like how the look of this one turned out I'm really proud of it because it also shows a new skill I learned and it was really fun. there was one thing that happened where the normals were flipped and it wasn't rendering properly till a shell was put on it. so I'm really proud of how this first attempt turned out.
What inspired you to create this piece?
this was by far the most stressful piece mainly because I had no idea what to do for it, I did eventually get inspired to do a Christmas Candy Cane tank because we had kind of just come out of Christmas so the inspiration struck me and I was able to get it finished. this piece has been one of the most complex piece I think I've done so far throughout this entire school year so far so I'm really happy and proud with how it turned out. I also think UVW mapping will be very useful for later projects since it's so useful for creating custom and complex shapes so I'm really excited to see how we use it in the future.
This piece I'm proud of because it's when we really started getting into making more than just one map and making multiple to make an object much more realistic. This was my first piece with that so I'm really proud of it because of that. Also because it was a bit pushed off the path so we did a little bit of custom work with it so that was enjoyable figuring out how the different maps effected the look of it so that was really fun. overall I'm proud of this piece and I really like it.
I liked this piece because it was our introduction into maps, I really enjoyed this one. this one was actually one of my favorites because it was pretty straight forward and allowed you to explore what you can do with the maps in such a simple way so I thought it was great. the only problem I had throughout this project was the text and the changing of maps, for the text it was mainly because the text was completely brand new as well. So I really enjoyed this project overall.
