What did you learn from creating this piece that you will apply to future projects?
In this piece I learned how to use a subtraction boolean to make dice. I wanted to create 3D printed dice for my Tabletop game project. The boolean tool is a very effective tool that can be used to modify shapes into mor complex shapes. I had learned about the boolean tool in CMA but had to touch on it during this project. In the end the boolean modifier made it so the dice numbers were inverted into the cube. This is what it is like on a normal dice.

What are you most proud of in this piece?
I am really proud of how this piece looks. It is visually very appealing. I wanted to create a coevceive ven diagram, but it wasn't original enough. I landed on a bubble like solution with color coated versions for all three games. A am really proud of the color combo I used. It has kind of a cartoony feel to it. It reminds me of a fun children's book, that I would have liked to read when I was younger. Overall I am really proud of this piece and I am pround that I put the time in to make it look the way it does.

What do you feel this piece demonstrates about your skills and abilities?
I struggled making this simple Bishop peice. I believe that this piece grealt demonstrates the struggle I went through and the final success I had. Some of the edges of the peices are a little rough because I wasn't able to fillet all of the edges after using the pen tool. I was able to make the pen stroke into a 3d version. Though this piece demonstrates the struggles I went through, it also demonstrates that I did get to a final product. This is a pattern that is important in life because problems occur, but success follows these problems only with persistence.

How did you plan and execute the project from start to finish?
I am going to talk about my game board, which was a part of my tabletop game. I had planned in my GDD to have 4 3Dpyrimdi instead of 4 flat boards. Eventually I came to the conlusio that making 4 3D Pyrmids would be to hard because of the time it would take and the problem with getting it too fold down flat. This is when I landed on a startdard board style. I would be making of 4 of the still. I designed them in Adobe Illustrotor and duplicated 4 of them. Once I made the 4 I just needed to change the colors and change the orientation of tow of the boards. Once I finished the diesg I printed them and cut them out.

What did you learn from creating this piece that you will apply to future projects?
The player cards was the most time consuming part of my tabletop game. It took so long because of the amount of romainng I had to do. The images were Ai generated, but the back contained a lot of rotten work. I was able to duplicate this work and re format it. I created 16 player cards and for every one I had to change the size, color, font, and boldness of every section of the player cards. three ware 4 sections for each player card. In the future I want to use an Adobe program or learn a tool on llustrotor that can duplicate formatting logistics on a ton of sheets.

What did you learn from creating this piece that you will apply to future projects?
This piece doesn't look like much, but it was the single most important part of my game. It was the weka point of my project. I finally got to the outcome seen below, but it took me so long to finish because hadn't fully formulated my plan for creating my game This peice took time away from actually creating my game. In the future I know to finishinthe the pre-production and brainstorming activities quickly an dconcisly and place the majority of my energy on actually finsihin g the game.

For this assignment I made a game that involved a maze. I put it in an environment in the maze because I wanted to make it more visually appealing. This piece is probably the one I am the most proud of because I put a decent amount of effort making the landscape look nice. I was currently adding pain triggers and items the player could interact with so that the maze was more interesting.

This doesn't look like the most interesting or visually appealing piece, but it took a lot of trouble shooting to make. It is an interface where a player tries to shoot 3d targets before the time runs out. Its pretty simple in concept but with all the display panels that the player looks at it is quite complicated. I used a lot of the Unreal engine Blueprint interface to make the on target hit connected to certain node algorithms.

Here was the first exploratory assignment that we did in Unreal. We messed around with a path that this character had to follow. I got introduced to the basic concepts like pain causing instesses and items players can interact with. Visually this piece is appealing because of the sky atmosphere. I did not make the environment, but I hope by the end of this class i will be able to.

Here is the breakdown of the chaos physics in the Unreal Engine. I thought it looked cool. This system allows for objects to be broken down into smaller chunks, so these chunks act separately from each other. Each piece when hit by a projectile drops using the basic principle of gravity. It doesn't have to rely on being connected with the other parts of the target, making for a more realistic look.

This was our first assignment in unreal, I made a basic house. This was a very simple assignment, but I like the way it looks. With some pretty simple transformation of basic shapes, I can make simple objects displayed in the real world. This assignment was the starting point for a noob like me, so this is my reflection on my first output from the Unreal Engine software. I hope to become more skilled by the end of the year.

The following two pictures depicts my tabletop game that I made at the start of the year. I was actually really proud of what I made. I was proud of it becuase it was a stlye of board game that brought together aspects of mutliple differnt kinds of games. It took advantage of a 4 board system the is quite powerful in captivated the full strategy and attention of each player. To create this product I used mulitple differnt tools. I used my dads printer, 3d printer, scissors, and a computer. I aslo used my biggest tool and asset that I have: myself.

I really liked making my maze game. While the product isn't perfect it gives off a vibe of I actually made something kinda cool. I was very happy with the contrast between the maze and the landscape in the center. It is not pictured here, but part of the maze had sliding panels that players had to jump on. There were also explosions where players blew up(didn't die) to know if they were getting closer to where they needed to know. I feel this peice is cooler than the game that I actaully made becasue I spent more time int he production process.

The trees that are seen to the left were made for the use in my game. I really liked how they turned out. I was able to apply color and texture to make a sort of glowing set of colors that appeal to the player. I think they add to the overall feel of the game and without them the game would look less insightful. I wish I had time to generate a whole forest that players could have driven through that were made completely of these trees.

This is one of the assets I made in 3ds Max and I am very proud of it. It looks kind of futuristic and contributes to the playful aspect of my game. I wanted to make it look a little bit abstract becasue again it adds to my games vibe. I wish I gould have made the wheel turn, but that could be an oppurtunity for a future project. Overall I'm happy with this peice and I am glad I got to work in 3ds Max for the production of my game.

The reason why I am proud of this peice is because it had the most game mechanics of any of the games I worked on this year. I wish my final game would have had more game mechanics. The FPS shooter game had a gun system with a bullet, a end screen saying you won or failed. It had a target that exploded and an enviroment that was awsome.
