Major Findings

Below are some preliminary yet noteworthy results from our study. Note that these data are not representative of all churches, as we are still collecting survey responses. 597 survey responses (collected until 7/30/21) were analyzed.

Overall, there were significant differences in the average number of weeks churches were closed due to COVID-19 in relation to the region of the country in which they were located.

There were also significant differences in the number of new safety practices adopted in churches, depending on the geographical region in which the churches were located.

There were some COVID-19 mitigation and safety practices which were particularly common among congregations. See below the practices which had the highest rates of implementation among all respondents from March 2020 to March 2021.
