On April 27, 2023, the Berkeley High Fashion Club put on a sustainable fashion show. Showcasing close to 20 student designers and over 40 models, the show was accompanied by a student-made soundtrack. The sold-out event attracted over 300 attendees and raised $2,127 for Remake, a nonprofit that works to bring fair pay and environmental sustainability to the clothing production industry.
This entirely student-led fashion show inspired many in our community about reusing, recycling, and reworking clothes to reduce the negative impact fashion has on the environment. This show brought together the innovative minds and strong enthusiasm in our community for more sustainable fashion and we can’t wait to put on the show again next year.
