Our Mission
Our Mission
We’re a youth led organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for adolescents and young adults battling cancer. Our mission is to amplify the voices of young patients, build community support, and drive meaningful impact through fundraising and advocacy. All funds and proceeds are directly donated to the AYA@USC clinical care and research facilities, helping improve treatment, advance research, and enhance the quality of life for young people facing cancer.
Our Story
Our story is rooted in a shared commitment to improving the lives of adolescents and young adults facing cancer and the unique challenges that come with diagnosis at such a critical stage of life. Approximately 89,000 adolescents and young adults (ages 15–39) are diagnosed with cancer each year in the United States, representing about 5% of all cancer diagnoses. Despite these numbers, AYA cancer remains underrepresented in research, awareness, and specialized care, leaving many patients navigating a complex system that is not always designed for their specific medical and psychosocial needs.
The AYA@USC program at Keck Medicine of USC is dedicated to improving care for adolescents and young adults with cancer by providing specialized, compassionate, and coordinated treatment tailored to their unique needs. Through collaboration with leading hospitals like USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the program offers not only advanced medical care, but also vital emotional, social, and financial support. AYA@USC also builds a strong peer community and promotes awareness and research so young patients feel understood, supported, and never alone during their cancer journey.
As a Youth Ambassador for AYA@USC, our work centers on expanding awareness of adolescent and young adult oncology and strengthening the sense of community for patients and families navigating cancer. We're committed to supporting initiatives that promote education, advocacy, and peer connection, while helping amplify the voices of young people whose experiences are often overlooked in traditional healthcare spaces.
