To be an advocate, is to be an agent for change. SAU gives students the opportunity and platform to advocate and spread their voice however they want to. Whether it be through protests, negotiations, surveys, or more, students have the ability to enact change for the better. We strive to be unique in as an advocate for students by ensuring a holistic approach to proposing changes within educational systems.

SAUs are unique in that we approach advocacy like a science. Advocacy being the study and work of creating change within systems, requires an interdisciplinary approach. This means that we empower students to contribute to the movement of student advocacy through a number of different leadership opportunities. Whether you join your SAU's cabinet as an officer, or its department of fiscal analysis as a financial expert, department of investigation as a critical thinker, or department of community outreach as a creative mind, SAU has just about anything you can think of!

SAU clubs are tied together by our work through our Non-profit, SAU Inc. which provides funding and resources for us to do the work of the students! While you're in SAU, trust that every other charter has your back when it comes to help in legal research, fundraising, or straight up just advertising. SAU is all about solidarity between students, so no matter what school you're at, what district you're in, what state you're from, we've got your back!

As a fast growing movement, SAU has developed a vast network of connections both within local government and between student leaders! Basically, if you need to get something done, we'll make sure you get connected with the right people to make that change happen.
