How we want to use our skills
Mia F- In robotics, you really learn how to work as a team and use everyone’s strengths as much as possible. Problem-solving and time management is also something that you can easily get better at by being in robotics.
Alexis C - I hope to become an engineer, and robotics is an easy way to get those necessary skills for later on.
Their favorite part of robotics
Mia F-I adore the way that everyone helps each other and gives advice. You can easily have a good time during competitions or even during normal practices.
Alexis C- The community.
Favorite Memory at practice
Mia F- There was a certain point that we sort of started feeling comfortable with one another. At first, it was basically just all super serious work, all trying to do our best to show skills. I think after we started being honest about our roles and skills as people, we were able to be more open with one another and started laughing every day.
Alexis C- Hanging out with other teams and working together to come up with ideas to fix a problem
Favorite Memory at a Tournament
Mia F- Probably my first competition. It was a stressful time for all of us mainly because for a lot of us, this was our first competition ever. We easily slid into our roles and made everything work out. We had a good alliance, made memorable friendships, and got to quarter finals which is amazing for us! We learned a lot about how to improve as a team and how to improve during our practices.
Alexis C- Learning from other teams to try to find ways to improve our robot.
Team Goals
Mia F- 3249C’s goal at the beginning was to qualify, but now we have a new goal that is added to the one that we had originally. Currently, we want to make it to finals. We know that there is a good chance that we won’t make it to state but we want to be able to work hard and get somewhere after the quarter-finals.
Alexis C- Get into state.
How they Describe Robotics
Mia F- Robotics is a learning experience that can last a lifetime. It allows people to find their strengths and weaknesses without being judged. A true bonding experience.
Alexis C- For me, robotics can be difficult, no doubt about that, but robotics is not about being frustrated by a difficult task. Though that definitely happens, robotics is really about finding a solution to a problem and finding new ways to innovate and bring new ideas to the table.
