Each fall, a small group of juniors and seniors enroll in the Leadership/Peer Mentorship elective course at Skyview. While they complete a wide variety of projects, assignments, and gain personal and professional skills, BOLT is -- without a doubt -- their most important and culminating project.
Throughout the year, this team of young go-getters:
Develops project management, public speaking, marketing, organization, planning skills
Mentors small group of incoming freshmen
Plans school/community improvement campaigns:
All facets of the BOLT event
School improvement projects
Service efforts (organize volunteer events, etc.)
Youth Suicide Prevention
Morale-boosting activities that support Skyview High School culture
Helps build a family culture in class
WORKS ON THEMSELVES!
While all students come from very diverse backgrounds, and have varying interests and passions, Leadership class has transformed them into a close-knit and supportive "family" of peers. This year's group is especially strong because they have weathered the storm brought by the pandemic, and have been able to connect as a team despite many challenges.
