WEEKLY CHART

WEEK 1 (30/11/2020 - 04/12/2020)

All of our team members did a some research on coal, Linde process, composition of coal and each specific process for Linde through various source like journals, Linde website, webinar and different websites by journalists.

We have managed to do an overall brief idea of Linde process for ammonia

WEEK 2 (07/12/2020 - 11/12/2020)

We did some research on each block of our overall process after our consultation with Dr. Dayang. Each of the members shared their research websites and pages on our Whatsapp group so that all of the members can learn from it. Coal composition were listed and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of each raw material were uploaded.

We have also divided our tasks accordingly so that each of the members can do research on their given reactions.

WEEK 3 (14/12/2020 - 18/12/2020)

We attended an Academic Sharing Session of the production of ammonia by Miss Tan Chiang Jinn, process engineer from ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer.

Our official block flow diagram (BFD) was constructed with complete mole fractions of each species on it. We had the third meeting with Dr Dayang to discuss our progress.

WEEK 4 (21/12/2020 - 25/12/2020)

We managed to find more information on catalyst, pressure and temperature for some reactions. We also started to do manual calculations on our block diagram. We had another consultation with Dr. Dayang to discuss our calculation.

WEEK 5 (28/12/2020 - 01/01/2021)

We did further calculation for each reaction for all unit blocks in our system. On Tuesday session, we had a last consultation with Dr. Dayang. We discussed our final calculation and proceeded to integrate our calculations into Excel.

On Friday, we had our first consultation with Dr. Syakina. We were briefed about cost analysis of our product and feed stream. We also drew block flow diagram on I.O.

WEEK 6 (04/01/2021 - 08/01/2021)

We finished up most of our integrated calculations on excel. We had a second meeting with Dr. Syakina on Tuesday to discuss about our integrated calculations on excel. We also started to do analysis on our cost of this project.

WEEK 7 (11/01/2021 - 15/01/2021)

By this week, we had done all the manual calculations and are working on to complete our integrated calculations on excel. We had two meetings with Dr. Syakina on Tuesday and Friday to recheck and confirm our manual calculations.

In the meantime, we also started calculated the cost for our feed stock which are coal and water on excel.

WEEK 8 (18/01/2021 - 22/01/2021)

On the last week of this project we had done all the integrated calculations on excel and completed our cost analysis. We had a last meeting with Dr. Syakina to do some final checking on our calculation before we proceed to compile them. We are expected to hand in our project on Friday (22/01/2021).

Now, we start to focus on doing our final reports and presentation. All members have been equally divided to do reports and presentations on their respective unit blocks.

UPDATE

The project deadline is extended until Tuesday (26/01/2021). We use this extra time to do final recheck for our project before submitting it. We ask Dr. Dayang and Dr. Syakina for the last time to help us complete our project.
