As we are done with data cleaning, we can now begin to understand key patterns in the data to make some powerful and informed decisions. We are using PowerBI to visualize the dataset.
In PowerBI we are using two different datasets in order to relate with our EDA before and after pre-processing:
Dataset 1: data-learninganalytics.xlsx
Dataset 2: data-binning.xlsx
This dataset is our original dataset that has been combined or merged (logs dataset and marks dataset). We splitting Date and Time using splitting columns. We also create a new attribute in PowerBI which is Grade using the standard UPM Grading. Our dataset consists of 11518 rows with 11 columns.
This dataset is a pivot table between Student ID as a row and Event Context as columns, but has not been grouped with the same Event Context and naming as Data-Binning.xlsx. Therefore, our dataset consists of 35 rows with 27 columns.
We used PowerBI to visualized our Exploratory Data Analytics in order to better understanding about our dataset.
The objective of this dashboard is to answer two questions as below:
Which of the events are most accessible by the student?
What is the activity in the quiz event?
From the bar graph, we can see that Quiz is the most module access by the student. This is maybe Quiz contribute marks for the student, therefore; the students access to the quiz section in order to get a mark. From the pie chart, we can see what is the most activity done by the student in this online course.
The objective of this dashboard is to answer two questions as below:
Does student participation in online courses will affect their mark?
Can we know which student scores an A grade and what is online activity that they're involved?
From this dashboard, we can see that there are 7 students who got grade A, and the most activities done by the student is Quiz 1 and Quiz 2. This dashboard also shows the average marks for those students. From this dashboard, we can conclude that this online course will affect student marks only if there is a mark for students. This means, they need to access these online courses in order to complete them and get the marks.
