SEATEACHER BY SEAMEO 2024
The SEA-Teacher Project is an initiative organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) aimed at enhancing the professional development of pre-service student teachers from various universities across Southeast Asia. In 2024, the project continues to facilitate valuable teaching experiences for these students through a structured exchange program.
The Objectives of the Project
The SEA-Teacher project aims to provide opportunity for pre-service student teachers from universities in Southeast Asia to have teaching experiences (practicum) in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia. Specifically, the aims of the SEA – Teacher Project are:
To enable the student teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy.
To encourage the student teachers to practice their English skills.
To allow the student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view.
To expose future teachers to diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities, and the value of flexibility.

One of the faculties at Sebelas Maret University is the teaching and educational sciences faculty. Currently, FKIP UNS offers 49 academic programs, which include 25 Undergraduate Programs (S1), 1 Professional Program, 18 Master’s Programs (S2), and 5 Doctoral Programs (S3). These programs are organized into six departments based on their academic focus. Notably, the Department of Technical and Vocational Education includes key programs such as Mechanical Engineering Education and Civil Engineering Education.
At Sebelas Maret University I joined the chemistry education department. The Chemistry Education Program at Sebelas Maret University is designed to equip students with both chemical knowledge and pedagogical skills necessary for effective teaching. This program has a vision that is in line with the Vision of FKIP and UNS, namely “To become a study program with international reputation and contribute to the development of science and technology in the field of chemistry education based on the noble values of national culture”.
