Sustainable Development Goals
Special education and the SEA-Teacher program are closely related to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to inclusive education and educational quality. The following are the relevant SDGs:
Special education is concerned with ensuring that children with special needs receive inclusive and quality education. The SEA-Teacher Program, which supports student and teaching exchanges in Southeast Asia, also aims to improve the quality of education, including in the context of education for people with disabilities.
Programs like SEA-Teacher can support social inclusion by facilitating the exchange of experience and knowledge between educators working with students from various backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
The SEA-Teacher Program encourages cooperation between countries to share knowledge, skills and strategies in overcoming educational challenges, including education for people with disabilities, which can enhance global partnerships in the context of inclusive education.
Through the implementation of programs such as SEA-Teacher, which introduces teachers from various countries to collaborate and share experiences, it is hoped that it can increase awareness and quality of inclusive education and provide a more equitable education for all students, regardless of their physical or social conditions.
