1.Improvement in Gingivitis : Peedikayil et al. (2015) compared coconut oil pulling to chlorhexidine in patients with plaque-induced gingivitis.
2.Reduction in Harmful Oral Bacteria : Asokan et al. (2008) found that oil pulling with sesame oil significantly reduced Streptococcus mutans (a major contributor to tooth decay) in plaque and saliva.
3.Plaque Reduction : A 2016 review in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research concluded oil pulling could reduce plaque levels and improve gum health, especially with coconut oil.
