Weddington High School Club Council Guidelines
Purpose
Club Council coordinates student clubs at Weddington High School. We facilitate collaboration between clubs, help organize school-wide opportunities, and connect clubs with resources. Club Council works with administration to support clubs and ensure they operate safely and effectively.
Basic Requirements
Advisor Presence
Faculty advisor must be present at all club meetings and events
Advisor is the responsible UCPS party for the club
Advisors may sponsor up to 3 clubs (exceptions can be requested from site-based leadership)
Attendance Tracking
Clubs maintain attendance using the shared spreadsheet provided by Club Council
Meeting frequency is determined by each club

Club Council Meetings
Monthly meetings - each club sends one representative
Representatives participate in communication between clubs and Club Council
Representatives provide input on new club application recommendations
Focus on coordination opportunities, school-wide events, and information sharing
New Club Applications
Faculty advisor submits application (not student)
Applications accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year
Club Council representatives review and discuss applications at monthly meetings
Club Council recommends approval/denial to site-based leadership
Site-based leadership makes final decision
Existing clubs continue automatically - no annual reapplication required
