Annette Village Farmers’ Market (runs through June to October):
The Annette Farmers’ Market was founded in 2012 and opened its doors on-site at the Crème Fraîche Market Cafe with the support of local food advocates, farmers, and artisans. A couple of years after its grand opening, the Annette Farmers’ Market flourished in size and popularity and eventually relocated to the Runnymede Presbyterian Church. The market has many vendors that offer fresh Ontario fruits and vegetables, bread and baked goods, farm-fresh eggs, locally and sustainably raised meats, Ontario cheeses, and VQA wines. The Annette Village Farmers’ Market operates every Wednesday, with hours of operation from 3 to 7 pm. All market-goers, vendors, and staff must wear a mask and follow Toronto Public Health’s COVID-19 protocols. So come on by and help the Annette Village Farmers’ Market continue to thrive!
Terry Fox Run (In-person: September 19, 2021):
The Terry Fox run is a well-known tradition in Canada that aims to raise money for cancer research while preserving and growing Terry Fox’s legacy. The Terry Fox run is routinely scheduled by schools and many urban and rural communities across Canada. There are many ways you can show your support for cancer patients such as sponsoring a participant/team, and becoming a monthly donor. This event is also beneficial as high-school students can gain experience and leadership skills by participating in organizing events while earning their required volunteer hours to graduate. So, on September 19, 2021, show your support for cancer patients by walking, riding, running, and wheeling, and be like Terry!
