Born in Peoria, Illinois, Nghi Vo is a queer American novelist best known for her work in fantastical short stories, novellas, and novels. Vo attended college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and now lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Michigan.
She published her first short story, "Gift of Flight," in 2007 and continued to publish short stories on several media platforms. She continued her career in novella writing, where she authored texts such as When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain (2020), Into the Riverlands (2022), and Mammoths at the Gates (2023).
She is best known for her work in the 2020 novella entitled The Empress of Salt and Fortune, which was granted the Hugo Award for Best Novella as well as the 2021 IAFA Crawford Award.
Her debut novel, The Chosen and the Beautiful, was published in 2021; however, she has since published the novel entitled Siren Queen, another fantasy novel, which she published in May 2022. (Wikipedia)
