Meet Mrs. Recek
This is my seventh year at Shenandaoh Valley Jr./Sr. High School. I taught English Language Arts to middle school students for 11 years in Las Vegas, NV prior to moving to northeaster Pennsylvania. I also taught high school English for two years in Central California. I am originally form Spokane, WA.

My college education began with a Bachelors of Arts in English from Western Washington University in 1999. After working for a couple of years in property management, I went back to school to earn a Bachelors of Arts in secondary education from Easter Washington University in 2003. I earned my Masters in Education in curriculum and instruction, with a focus on integrating technology, form Grand Canyon University in 2009.

More recently I earned my National Board Certification (meeting national teaching standards), completed a blended learning certificate certifying me to teach online and blended learning classes, and earned my Teaching English as a Second Language certification through additional college courses.

I have four kids, ranging from age 13 to 23. In my spare time I love watching movies and reading young adult fiction, as well as working on our farm and spending time with family.
