For many the opportunity to try something new: For many students, computer science has never been a big thought of theirs. At SKHS there are tons of classes simple, or hard, which focus on computer science. Many students are undecided on what they would like to do in the future and taking a chance at computer science is an amazing way to find an interest.
College credits and future job opportunities: Working throughout the computer science program and pathway gives you a huge advantage when you move to college and ultimately apply for jobs. Completing this program will put you steps above other competitors, and completing the pathway offers first-hand opportunities, and many times you can work with other companies and employers. During this pathway, you even have the chance to work with many of URI's computer science professors which is amazing when you are deciding where you would like to go to college. Having a reference from URI will drastically help you out in the college application process and help you when you apply for jobs.
