I direct the Writing Center using the writing and teaching skills I developed over the course of my doctorate in developmental psychology/cognitive neuroscience.
I’m particularly interested in finding creative ways to support people with learning disabilities. Having attended college outside of the US in a language that was not my native language, I’m very familiar with the unique gifts and challenges associated with managing more than one language.
APA format is my jam and scientific academic writing is my specialty, but I love helping students in all programs develop their voices and build their writing and communication skills. All abilities welcome!
I have two cats, drink too much tea, and can’t take a professional-looking picture to save my life. Looking forward to working with you :)
I am a wandering soul and resident of the world. I have been working as an editor for more than a decade, and I worked as a National Park Service park ranger in Washington state, Alaska, and Massachusetts. I earned a Ph.D. in Sustainability Education at Prescott College. My research focused on a concept I refer to as self-sustainability and the idea that creating sustainability at a global level begins with the individual. I believe that participation in the creative process and sharing our life stories can bring about clarity, catharsis, and transformative change for individuals on the path to self-sustainability. In this vein, during my time as a doctoral student, I worked closely with a fellow cohort member to develop a method of songwriting called Story-to-Song (STS). Through STS, a person is invited to share a story from their life and I work with them as a creative guide in the collaborative process of shaping their words into a song.
I look forward to helping you shape your unique ideas and words!
I'm a graduate student in Sustainable Food Systems with a background in health communications and marketing. My research focuses on the intersection of food access, stewardship of the earth, and community wellness. Working with undergraduates on their writing is always a joy; often I'm learning from you as much as you're learning from me!
Undergraduates can schedule an appointment or email me for assistance with writing assignments.
I am currently an undergraduate student working towards her master's in education, with a breath in environmental studies. I have a lot of experience with helping others, whether it be as an RA, educator, or a peer. Math has just become a natural talent for me, and I have taken everything besides precalc and above.
