About

History

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics officially began operation on the 31st of January, 1963. This new society was formed as a merger between the prior American Rocket Society and the Institute of Aerospace Sciences. Since then, the organization has grown to include over 35,000 members from 80 countries.

This club is one small branch of this organization and was officially started in January of 2020. The club aims to provide a socially active community of New Mexicans to engage in fun and interesting aerospace-related events in an effort to help inspire engineering passion in future generations. As the club was started just before COVID, it has taken some time to get off the ground, however, we hope to hold regularly scheduled events going forward and provide as many opportunities as we can to our members.
