MHS CIF Club

About Us

The MHS CIF Club is a collection of students that came together to participate in the Critical Issues Forum at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS). We seek to understand and bring awareness towards the nonproliferation movement and related issues, encouraging students to critically think about nuclear issues and adapt the role as change agents in an age of global crisis.

Ultimately, the youth will inherit the problems of the world. We are here to educate ourselves in order to be able to make a positive difference in the face of many barriers.

International Baccalaureate (IB) at Monterey High School (MHS)

The IB curriculum and programs encourage students to think critically and globally while attaining problem-solving skills. It encourages students to be inquirers, open-minded, knowledgeable, caring, thinkers, risk-takers, communicators, balanced, principled, and reflective. Students at MHS are able to connect concepts and issues discussed within CIF to the IB principles and utilize the skills they've learned to better engage and make a difference through this project.
