"Hey guys,
I’m reaching out on behalf of Monash Health. We are currently developing an insulated bag for our Hospital in the Home service. Our goal is to ensure certain antibiotics remain cold whilst patients continuously wear an antibiotic pump.
We have a rough functional prototype (photos attached) and are looking to make some more refined versions. The bag is approximately 4L, and is lined with an insulation layer. The bag will have a roll down top with buckle, and 3 plastic inserts.
We love the style and details of the Alpaka sling bags, and were wondering if you would have the capacity to manufacture one of these bags or collaborate in producing a batch. If you don’t have the capacity, would you be able to recommend a softgood prototyper Melbourne? Or have the time for a meeting to give us some advice on materials and finishes?
I would appreciate any advice, and look forward to chatting soon!
Thanks so much,
Geoff"
"Hi Geoff,
Thanks for reaching out. I see that the bag is ultrasonic/heat welded type of bags. Do you have approximate volume of production? The bag doesn’t look very difficult (assuming there is no electronic part).
I am in Melbourne next week, I can drop by at your office to have a look. Are you based in Clayton?
Regards,
Jin"
"Hi Geoff,
Thanks for reaching out!
We appreciate your interest! Unfortunately, we are not qualified to make medical-grade products, and as such we won't be able to make product for specific medical conditions, or market them as such.
Thanks for your understanding. If there's anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
Best,
Trixie"
At this point I called Jin and Trixie and had a chat about the project. I was able to get Jin and his co-founder, Justin, to agree to a meeting on the 13th of September at Monash Caulfield. This was my first ever client meeting that I would set up, take and follow up by myself. Robbie Napper came to the inital meeting with me.
Attendees:
Alpaka: Jin and Justin
Monash: Robbie and Geoff
Lead by Monash
In this meeting we discussed the scope of the project. Alpaka agreed to produce one bag prototype in return for promotional/marketing material.
Attendees:
Alpaka: Jin and Justin
Monash: Rowan, Jason and Geoff
Lead by Monash
The second meeting we discussed the IP arrangments and formalised the compensation of the project
