D - Generate Designs

We chose not to go forward with the Lofted Wing option, as we did not feel that it was as connected to our ultimate goal of reducing pollution from aircraft as making a magnetic assisted turbine. For this reason, we chose to go forward with the magnet assisted turbine as it aligned better with our goals. Concept 8 was not too far off from Concept 4 for points, so we decided that it would be fine to override the points.  

1. Create a problem statement

2. Brainstorm possible solutions

3. Use our decision matrix to choose and justify our solution

4. Identify the STEM principles that we need in our project

5. Find an open-source 3D-printed model turbine engine

   1. Modify using Fusion 360 to accommodate transmission and motors

6. Design transmission that allows for torque combination and running from both the gas engine and motor

7. Test the engine using a fan to see if there is higher power output or more efficiency

8. Improve design if necessary

9. Present final project
