The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
After spending a great deal of time at my internship, I think that being professional at my site includes, having a hard work ethic, being very friendly and communicative, staying on task, and being a good problem solving. a great example of this is when you have a difficult patient and you need to be friendly with them, stay on task and not get frustrated, and problem solve in order to help them.
I want to be a smart and qualified registered Physical Therapist who aims toward identifying and prioritizing patient needs as well as incorporating a variety of health care resources into an individualized care plan to help the patient the best I can holistically. To accomplish this goal, I will attend UCCS upon graduation majoring in nursing.
Goals
My number one goal was to meet everyone, which really helped me feel more at home at the clinic.
My second goal was to learn as much medical vocabulary. This was very beneficial as it helped me learn and comprehend at a faster rate.
My third goal was to interact with as many patients as possible. This really helped with my communication skills.
