In order to be professional, you need to know how to build strong relationships, to communicate with countless different people and be able to adjust your communication style in a way that makes sense to them. it is also about knowing your job and what the expectations are for you so that you can achieve them to the best of your abilities.
Q: What is your name?
A: Meika
Q: What do you do there?
A: The practice manager and a registered veterinary technician.
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
A: The variety of animals we get to see every day, it's, always different and it’s never the same.
Q: How long have you been working in this field?
A: I have been a certified registered veternary technician for 13 years now.
Q: Why did you pick this job?
A: I was a cos student in high school. Then I went to one of the local clinic and then I decided this is what I wanted to do.
Q: What was required for you to get to this position?
A: I went to Bellray Institute odAnimal Techechnology. And it is a two year vetranary applied science associates degee. and the multipule other certifications, as well as practice management certification.
Q: If you got the chance to give someone starting in this field advice, what would it be?
A: I would definatle say that if you are getting into it just to deal with puppies and kittens all day. Thats not the case, you do have to talk to people. It is very people oriented. You do get to see the puppies and kittens, just plan on lots of communicztion with people. And not every day is going to be great. And some days can be really hard.
Q:
I plan to become a veterinary doctor working with small and large animals. I want to be able to help animals have a better quality of life and I believe this path will be the most effective in achieving that goal.
after high school I plan to go to either Colorado State University or Oklahoma State University to pursue my bachelors in animal science and then continue with school for my doctorate and veterinary and animal medicine. After graduating from college and passing my license exam, will work at a veterinary clinic and work towards opening my own clinic
