The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
To be professional to me means to be present, engaged, and focused on the topic at at hand when you are performing tasks that will lead you to you career. This shows intrest and intregity to the people helping you achive your profession.
Q: What steps would you recommend for someone who wants to go into your career?
A: I would say the first step is shadowing, like, exactly what you're doing, no matter what you're going to go into, whether it be in healthcare or out. I would say kind of immerse yourself into what you think you're getting yourself into, because even me, it never changed my mind. But I didn't really quite know exactly what x-ray was until I was into it. And then I was like, oh, it's a little bit different than what I'd expected. So I would say shadowing is the best way to really decide if that's what you could see yourself doing for the rest of your life.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I would say there's two things that I like.I like the patients.I like helping patients. I like being a part of their process of getting better, figuring out what's going on with them. I also really like the trauma aspect of my job. I really thrive in trauma-like environments. So being in the ER is somewhere that I like to spend a lot of my time.
Q: How is this going to better your career now that you pass this exam, now that you have this certification?
A: I think something that's really good about healthcare in general, but radiology specifically, there are a lot of modalities that you can end up going into, and there's not a limit on how many modalities you can get into. I think the more training, the more certifications that you get can only benefit you in this field. So I think it'll open up a lot more doors for me being able to do both x-ray and CT if I end up deciding to maybe do something like a travel job that can look really good on a resume, that sort of thing. So see where it goes from there.

I am a dedicated student hoping to step foot in the Radiology field. I would love to be a radiologist technologist; helping patients get closer to a treatment or diagnosis and be able see what others can't. In order to achive this goal, I plan to attend Colorado Mesa University to study Radiology.
