COS Internship: Medical Assistant at Montrose Pediatric Associates

Professionalism to me:

  • In my opinion, professionalism isnt just about showing up and doing the work. It is about showing up, putting all possible effort into it and having a postive attitude. It is learning along the way in order to become better at what you do.

Asnwer 1: My name is Jessica Jimenez, I am a medical assistant at the Pediatrics Clinic here in montrose.

Question 2: What made you want to do this job/ carrer?

Answer 2: I thought it was a small career to start with and see if I enjoy the medical field.

Question 3: What do you like most about your job?

Answer 3; I like working with kids, babies. They’re funny and I just enjoy helping them.

Question 4: What made you want to pursue more than a Medical Assistant?

Answer 4: I just think that the medical field has so many opportunities for you and it is just really crazy to understand how your body works and how little things can affect it, and just helping out patients as well.

Question 5: What is a piece of advice that you would give me?Asnwer 5: √Don’t let anybody put doubt in you and don't be afraid to go out and push yourself because they say it’s really hard but don't let that stop you from going.

Career Statement :

In the future I strive to be a compassionate and determined registered nurse who is willing to always help others in need whenever it is needed and use the healthcare resources in a positive manner. I strive to be eager to learn and want more.

Goals

Work Quick and Efficiently: Be able to work under pressure and be efficient. I know that working in the medical field things need to be done quickly and in a good way so interning at the pediatrics I set this goal.

Taking initiative : Taking initiative in my learning and performance. Taking initiative is important because it makes me be in charge of my own learning and understanding.

Learning through hands on experience : Working in the medical field there is a lot of hands on tasks, having a goal for me to learn through hands on eperience is critical because it allows me to have knowledge on performing the documentation of vitals, prepping exam rooms, and communicating with patients.
