The Colorado Department of Education defines:
-time and work management
-career literacy
-grit and resilience
-work ethic; dependable and reliable
My Personal Definition:
To me being a professional means to be on time, to work had, and to be able to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I am eager to please and love to make peope happy, it is an important part in being a Real Estate agent. I believe in putting in the work, sometmes it is hard and life gets busy but in the end it is worth it.
Resume:
In the future I plan to attend a 4 year college and get a degree, a degree isn't required for my career but I would like to further my education. Before i attend college i plan to get my real estate licsense my senior year, when I turn 18. After completeing college I plan to move to Arizona or California.
I found my internship so far very helpful and I have learned so much. My internship supervisor, Tina Mcfarlin, has been so patient in the process of teaching me about HOA's and that side of the business. During my internship I would clock in and then Tina would teach me about documents, after I would be set free to help send emails, write violations , or change lockbox codes. Some days we would drive around neighborhoods and see if homeowners were following the restrictions of the neighborhood.
Career Experience and employment:
My first job was at Horsefly Brewing Company, there I learned how to manage stress and talk to angered customers politely. Yet the satisfaction of making customers happy made me realize that the stress is worth it. Currently, I am unemployed but after talking with Tina, if I understand the job well I may be able to help her after the year ends. I am very grateful for this opportunity because I am very comfortable around Tina and she is very welcoming when I have questions.
What I learned and My Reflective Essay:
During my internship Tina taught me how important connections with people are. If you make connections with people within the business you have more opportunities, I also learned the value of homes for people and the certain criteria certain people have. Learning how to manage time and stress is a big part of the job because of how deals aren't guaranteed.
Goals I set for myself:
The goals I have set for myself are to be focused, on time, and organized. I believe that these are key factors leading to being successful in the work field. Being focused is important because during the day it gets very busy with clients, paperwork, documents, etc; Being on time is important in all aspects of life, it shows that you care and have good time management skills. Organization is key to being successful because all tasks get completed and it is proven to reduce stress.
