The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
My personal definition: For me, professionalism is about carrying yourself maturely and responsibly. It's doing your job or work to a high personal standard and not just the bare minimum. Professionalism includes being reliable, dressing appropriately, and communicating respectfully with others. It's about taking accountability when you make mistakes rather than blaming people. It also means seeking to continuously improve at whatever you pursue through effort and practicing good time management.

A: Own her owns private practice used to work as a er nurse and icu nurse
Q: Where are you from?
A: Atlanta Georgia
Q:What do you like most about this your job?
A: I think what I like most is connecting with people and empowering people. Because I believe that everybody owns their own health and wellness and giving people that information and helping them find the right path is really really rewarding.

Q: How do you deal with stress in your job?
A: How do you deal with stress in your job? Really really great question what I think about when you say that I don’t think about my stress and thinking about the stress of the families that I work with and you know I have been in ICU and in a emergency room nurse for many many many years before I became a lactation Consultant and when I started working in lactation consulting, I found the families have the same level of stress as families in an ER or an ICU they’re just really worried about getting things right for their new baby.
Q: How Did You Choose the Career You're In?
A: It’s been a long path actually when I graduated high school. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do so I went to a community college and took liberal arts major classes, and I really noticed the class that I really enjoyed the most had a lot of nursing students. So I thought maybe I should try nursing school.
Q: How many hours a week do you work?
A: 40 hours a week
Q: What Do You Think Are The Keys To Success?
A: I think one of the most important things to be successful is knowing what you don’t know so that you can get help understand and learning and grow from that when you try to pretend that you know something that you don’t know or you want people to think that you know more than you dot hat kind of stunts you and you don’t move forward and you won’t be successful so number one key is getting help from others and knowing when you need help.
Q: If Go back to the beginning of Your Career, would you do anything different?
A: I cant really say I would do anything differently. I think I have had a very good career.
Q: What was your major in college? Where Did You Go To School?
A: I was a liberal arts major community college until I went to nursing school and I went to Georgia Baptist hospital school of nursing in Atlanta, which I’m old enough that I don’t think nursing schools exist anymore.
Q: What’s more important, making a lot of money or doing something you like?
A: 100% doing something you love. I think when it comes to healthcare, I considered going to medical school at some point and for me opportunities afforded to nurses are so much wider I think then if you go to medical school.

Goals I set for myself:
Improve my effectiveness
Becoming more efficient in your nursing responsibilities. Nurses often balance multiple duties and patients within a day. Having the ability to perform my tasks with optimized efficiency can help ensure that you fulfill all your shift responsibilities while providing quality patient care.
Further my communication skills
Further ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, fellow nurses and others I collaborate with daily. Most nurses communicate through many methods, including written and verbal communication. Learn to speak and write as clearly as possible.I also practiced listening actively and reading medical documentation carefully.
Become an expert at certain tasks
I mastered a few of my nursing responsibilities. I performed a wide range of tasks each day, such as taking out IVs, helping patients understand their treatment plans, and monitoring vital signs.
