To me professionalism isn't just being good at your job, it's also about how much effort you put in to being better at what you do and always having a good attitude about anything. It also means being dedicated and doing your tasks responsibly. professionalism is also being respectful towards clients and the people you collaborate with.

As someone who is passionate about interior designer, my goal is to craft innovative, sustainable spaces that enrich lives. Through creativity and commitment, I aim to leave lasting impressions, fostering well-being and connection in the built/design environment, and eventually establishing my own impactful design studio.

A: Megan Culmer
Q: Where do you work?
A: I'm the owner of Birchwood Design
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: I love helping people make a house a home. I love being creative and I enjoy being able to do something I love each and every day.
Q: What is your least favorite thing about your job?
A: My least favorite thing is probably having to give estimates
Q: What made you choose to become an interior designer?
A: I have always loved decorating, I used to work for an interior designer when aqua studio was on Main Street, and I absolutely loved it. I didn't know I could make it a career yet alone something I own.
Q: Do you work with anyone else on a daily basis?
A: Not on a daily basis. I offer interior design and home staging. I have a business partner on the home staging front, that I love working with. If I work with anyone else, it's typically a contractor.
Current experience & Employment
I have been working at Denny's as a host for about a year, providing great customer service for our customers. I am also currently working at 7Brew taking customers' orders in a fast and efficient way and making amazing coffee for them. I also took 3 different business classes at Montrose High School.

Being able to communicate is a huge part of this job. Owning your own business includes having to communicate with your clients. Being a good communicator is crucial for success in any business, including running your own interior design business. Effective communication skills can positively impact various aspects of your business, from client interactions to team collaboration and vendor relationships.
